We are pleased to offer our clients a highly effective and practical GSCoP & Competition Law training programme, in partnership with Macfarlanes LLP. Our programme develops positive behaviours and highly effective legal compliance. Often, legal compliance training is all about the knowledge of the law itself and what you can and cannot do. But at SmithCarey, we put scenario training at the centre of the programme. So we tailor your training around your team’s live scenarios and business challenges. As a consequence, our training is much more effective than other programmes. Our scenario training programme is highly interactive and very effective. What’s more, it has already been embedded across many clients’ commercial and cross-functional teams.
The GCA Statement
The Grocery Code Adjudicator (Christine Tacon) recently issued a statement relating to GSCoP. It referred to the fact that 71% of companies do not undertake GSCoP training, but that 100% of buyers will be trained at least once a year. It is clear that suppliers need to take action to inform and train their teams given that they are often:
- Giving away rights under the code unknowingly
- Lacking confidence when selling and negotiating
- Uncertain as to what is (and isn’t) in the GSCoP code
- Not confident in dealing with unacceptable requests
The benefits of GSCoP and Competition Law Training
If employees don’t understand the practical consequences of the code, this could seriously affect your business. Your buyers will have been trained, and they will be using this to their commercial advantage. SmithCarey Training (in partnership with Macfarlanes law firm) deliver tailored GSCoP and Competition Law training programmes. They will give your business the confidence to trade and deal effectively with customers and save you money.
