The company

A high profile, added value, well-invested and fast-moving food business with a combination of household brand and own label products. The business has an enviable track record of manufacturing, marketing, NPD and people development investment, with a professional highly collaborative cross-functional Sales & Marketing team.

With a broad-based UK business across Grocery Multiple, Foodservice and Discounter channels, the Head of Retail is now looking to appoint a high potential National Account Manager who will manage a portfolio of major customers including Tesco & Asda.

The role

This high-profile role will manage a portfolio of Grocery Retail Multiple customers including Tesco & Asda with full P&L responsibility. You will also shape and develop each account’s trading strategy, supporting the company’s strategic objectives to drive product distribution, optimum range, merchandising and promotional activities all working towards driving rate of sale and profitable sales growth.

Your account ownership will include working with and influencing the broader category, brand marketing, finance, NPD and supply chain teams who work in a highly collaborative and positive team-focused style.

About you

Based in the West Midlands M6/M5/M40 you have developed your FMCG career within brand OR own-label food or drink categories progressing to National Account Management level, including experience of managing any of the Top 8 Grocery Retail or Aldi/Lidl Discounter accounts. You love working as part of a team, leading the customer agenda and are happy with using category consumer-led insight data to build and execute effective trading strategies.

You have gained some experience in negotiating pricing agreements including product listings, distribution gains, promotional activities and trading terms. Full support and coaching will be provided to help further develop your experience & skills.
