South East based – M25/M4/M3 corridor
THE COMPANY
Highly progressive, well-invested and progressive market leading £700m privately owned food business, with multi-site UK-based production facilities producing both household brands and own label, sold across all the major trade channels.
The business has a strong focus on innovation and sustainability with a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive cross-functional team culture which has already been industry recognised.
THE ROLE
If you’re motivated about being the lead supplier in one of Tesco’s biggest food categories, where you will be required to help shape, develop and lead large scale strategic category development projects, working up to Director level both internally and externally, then this could be just the challenge you are looking for.
You will work cross functionally with all key stakeholders, so effective customer understanding, clarity of communication, commercial performance (P&L) and influencing the business agenda will be a big part of your day-in-day-out work activities. Additionally, due to the lightning-fast category rate of sale, the role will require you to be ‘shoulder-to-shoulder’ with both internal and external supply chain teams.
In short, a challenging and highly influential, commercial ‘spotlight’ role, where you can make a real impact on the business performance.
ABOUT YOU
You know Tesco – strategy, systems and buying contacts.
You’re a highly accomplished SNAM, Controller or Head of Sales commercial individual looking for your next interim (FTC) contract, or you may be looking for a permanent position, yet you would consider this 12-month FTC opportunity – It’s a big one!
This role will require proven major customer business management skills including a sharp understanding of the commercial levers that impact P&L performance, a fantastic ability to understand and influence the customer agenda, shaping account strategies, effective communication and project lead management, working cross functionally with your colleagues.
You have a natural and highly personable, engaging style that easily connects with team members at all levels, together with the drive and energy to work to high standards, all focused on achieving your business goals.
If the above motivates you to step into this high profile, challenging role and you’re confident that you have the experience, skills and personal style to match, please apply quoting reference MS/2541 with you CV to mark@smithcarey.co.uk OR give Mark Smith a call for an initial confidential discussion on 07747 847214
